Casa Lü’s residency programs offer a carefully structured environment where artists can focus on their practice with access to key resources and support. Residents benefit from:​

• Private accommodations with ensuite bathrooms

• Ongoing logistical and technical assistance from Casa Lü’s dedicated staff to ensure the success of their projects

• Regular meetings with both the team and fellow residents

• Curated excursions to relevant cultural sites

• Constructive feedback sessions with Casa Lü staff, alongside studio visits and insights from invited members of Mexico City's art community 

 

 

Program Focus

Each of Casa Lü’s residency programs offers participants distinct paths for deep reflection on their work and processes.

• Exploratory Residency Program: Designed for artists with intermediate to advanced experience, this program prioritizes experimentation and cultural engagement, encouraging participants to step outside their usual boundaries.

• Foundational Residency Program: Aimed at emerging artists or those transitioning into the visual arts, this program provides critical tools and foundational skills to support professional growth and development.

• Immersive Residency Program: For mid-career and established artists, this program offers a space for sustained engagement with their practice, emphasizing focused production and contemplation.

• Writers Residency Program: Open to writers at all stages, this program provides a setting for dedicated writing time, collaboration with peers, and opportunities for in-depth critique of their work.

The residencies take place across two distinct sites, each offering an environment that complements the specific needs of the artistic practices they host:

• Exploratory & Foundational Residencies: Located at Casa Lü Parque, an active urban space, these residencies encourage interaction with the city’s dynamic art scene and promote collaboration among artists.

• Immersive & Writers Residencies: Held at Casa Lü Sur, a quiet and spacious site, these residencies provide the solitude necessary for concentrated work, with private workspaces that foster reflection. This location also welcomes artist duos, partners, and families.

• Foundational Residency: Supports emerging artists in building professional portfolios and developing artist statements, leading to a final group show that reflects their growth during the program.

• Immersive Residency: Enables participants to refine their body of work and prepare for a solo exhibition, marking a cohesive and focused phase in their practice.

• Writers Residency: Focuses on the development of writing projects, offering space for peer interaction and culminating in public readings or presentations.
